The Cunningham Cabin was built as a homestead by John Pierce Cunningham after he arrived in Jackson Hole in 1885. It is a sod-roofed, double-pen building, originally built without the use of nails or metal fasteners, and was used as a home by John and his wife. Eventually it came to be used as a barn and smithy.
