A tower house in the Eifel region of Germany, this structure likely predates Monschau Castle, having been constructed in the 13thcentury. Monschau Castle, located on the other side of the valley, was besieged by the army of Charles V and Der Haller was cannibalized for building materials to repair the main castle.
